Gavin Mangano beat No. 1 Dean Anderson 9-4 at 138 at Who's Number One, per Justin Basch. It is Mangano's second straight win over Anderson. GlobalWrestOrder has the Penn State commit taking over the No. 1 spot in the nation at 138 as a result.
Anderson is a U20 World champion, which is what makes the result land. Basch had Mangano ranked No. 3 at 144, a weight above the one he wrestled in Stillwater, and listed him at No. 2 at 138 in the match results. GlobalWrestOrder called it "a great match."

Basch's running results had No. 1 Jesse Grajeda over No. 2 Braylon Reynolds at 144, No. 2 Jimmy Mastny over No. 4 Mick Moylan 9-0 at 215, No. 1 Brayden Wenrich over No. 2 Michael Batista 4-2 at 120, and No. 1 Jason Dube over No. 2 Clinton Shepherd 4-3 at 150.
The two lightest weights never happened. No. 2 Luke Loren won by forfeit over No. 1 Kooper Deputy at 106 and No. 2 Evan Restivo won by forfeit over No. 1 Analu Woode at 113, as reported earlier.
That leaves 138 as the headline result of the night, and it puts a Penn State commit at the top of the weight over a World champ at the age group level.
This is Mangano's second straight win over Anderson.
