Rodriguez-Dobler pins Cayir for U23 World title at 53kg
Cristelle Rodriguez-Dobler is a U23 World champion at 53kg, pinning Turkey's Sevval Cayir in under a minute in the Las Vegas final. She got there by beating China's Xiaotong Zeng 6-2, India's Sweety 11-2 and Ukraine's Anastasiia Polska 3-1. Basch says it is the second World title of her career after U20 gold in 2024.
First period pinfall for GOLD.

Bassett loses 6-3 on last-second four, Lilledahl out 3-1
Bo Bassett's U23 World title run ended in the quarterfinals when India's Jaskaran Singh hit a four-point move with under 10 seconds left to win 6-3. Christian Pyles says Bassett had the criteria advantage in the closing seconds and could have surrendered one point and still won.
Wound up giving up feet to back exposure to lose 6-3.
Why it matters: Both Americans only get bronze shots if their conquerors reach the finals and pull them into repechage.

Kozak calls US men's freestyle U23 showing very disappointing
Jon Kozak summed up the American men's freestyle day in Las Vegas as a very disappointing performance. Joe Sealey was teched 11-0 by India's Chandermohan in his opening round at 79kg and needs Chandermohan to keep winning to get back into repechage. Iowa's Jordan Williams is the one holding up, beating India's Sumit Bharaskar 6-4 to reach the quarterfinals.
No other way to say it, this is a very disappointing performance for the Men's Freestyle team at U23 Worlds.
