Susaki pins Neelam for fifth World title at 50kg
Japan's 50kg star went the entire tournament without surrendering a point.
Yui Susaki won the 50kg women's freestyle World final by fall, pinning India's Neelam while leading 5-0, per @infawrest. It is her fifth Senior World title, adding to the ones she won in 2017, 2018, 2022 and 2023. United World Wrestling posted the finish with the caption "A pin to win her 5th world 馃".

Five matches, 34-0
InfaWrest has Susaki outscoring the field 34-0 across five matches on her way to the gold, with three techs, the fall in the final and a 9-0 decision. Nobody put a point on her all tournament.
GlobalWrestOrder counted the result as Susaki's sixth combined World or Olympic gold medal and called her "one of the greatest wrestlers ever" after what the account described as a complete domination of the 2026 World Championships.
What it means at 50kg
Susaki remains the fixed point of the lightest women's freestyle weight. A final that ends in a fall from 5-0 is not a close call, and the 34-0 run means no opponent in the bracket found an answer, not in a single sequence over five matches.
The American side of 50kg had already gone sideways in this tournament. Morgan Turner was disqualified for brutality and out of the bracket, so the US had no role in how the medals were sorted at the weight.
Nothing in the sources addresses what Susaki does next or whether she chases a seventh World or Olympic gold. Nobody has said.
Things to watch
Whether Neelam, the only wrestler to reach the final opposite Susaki, becomes a fixture at 50kg for India going forward.
Whether the US gets a clean run at the weight the next time out after this year's disqualification.
She completely dominated the 2026 World Championships, without surrendering a single point
