VomBaur and James win Division C gold at Veteran Worlds
Two American titles on the same day on the veteran side in Jordan.
Ben VomBaur and Rudy James won Division C titles Saturday at the 2026 Veteran World Championships in Amman, Jordan, per USA Wrestling.
USA Wrestling called VomBaur a Colorado native and described James as "Minnesota's own" in the post announcing both results. That is two American golds off the same day of Division C competition at the veteran Worlds.
The federation did not list weight classes, scores or opponents for either man in the post, and it did not say which style either title came in. Nobody has released the rest of the American results from the day either, so how the two finals played out is not yet public.
What we know
The event is the 2026 Veteran World Championships, held in Amman. Division C is one of the age brackets on the veteran side of the United World Wrestling calendar, and both VomBaur and James finished first in it on Saturday. USA Wrestling's post is the only account of the results so far.
Veteran Worlds rarely gets the same attention as the senior, U23 and junior events, but it is a full UWW world championship with medals on the line across multiple age divisions, and the Americans who go are usually doing it on their own time well after their college careers ended. Two titles in one day is the sort of return a US veteran squad takes home and talks about for a while.
Our take, expect the fuller American medal haul to land once USA Wrestling publishes a day by day recap from Amman, which is how these championships typically get covered stateside.
Things to watch
USA Wrestling has not yet posted weight classes or the complete list of US medalists from Amman, so the full team result from the 2026 Veteran World Championships is still outstanding.
Colorado native Ben VomBaur and Minnesota’s own Rudy James topped the Division C podium on Saturday at the 2026 Veteran World Championships in Amman, Jordan.
