Virginia Tech drops Bo Bassett Final X all-access film
The Hokies call it the triple crown, three World Teams in one year for their freshman star.
Virginia Tech Wrestling posted a full all-access film of Bo Bassett at Final X making his first Senior World Team. The program billed it as "饾悢饾悕饾悓饾悁饾悡饾悅饾悋饾悇饾悆: 饾悈饾惍饾惀饾惀 饾悞饾惄饾惈饾悽饾惂饾惌" and labeled the year a triple crown, Bassett's third World Team in 2026. It is the Hokies putting their own stamp on the biggest name in the sport's youngest Senior class.
The film is built around Final X, where Bassett swept Real Woods to take the 65kg Senior spot. @hokieswrestling led the post with a line from Bassett himself, lifted out of the footage and set at the top of the tweet.
Triple crown framing
The program's own count is three World Teams this year, with the Senior spot at Final X as the third. Virginia Tech did not break down the other two in the post, and the film is the only thing the Hokies have put out on it so far.
What matters here is less the video than who is in it. Senior World Team members who are also current college wrestlers are a short list, and Virginia Tech is now producing recruiting-grade content around one of them in the middle of the preseason. The crown emoji and the triple crown tag are the program saying out loud that Bassett is the face of the room.
Our take: this is as much a recruiting asset as a highlight package. A high schooler scrolling X sees Blacksburg attached to a Senior World Team sprint, and that is the point of releasing it now rather than sitting on it.
What to watch, whether Virginia Tech keeps the all-access series going into the dual season, and how the staff handles Bassett's folkstyle schedule against a Senior World Team commitment.
