The full schedule

Friday, Oct. 30 brings Marcus Blaze at 61kg, Zain Retherford at 70kg, Kyle Dake at 86kg and Wyatt Hendrickson at 125kg. Saturday, Oct. 31 is the heaviest day on paper for American storylines, with Spencer Lee at 57kg, James Green at 74kg, Levi Haines at 79kg and Trent Hidlay at 92kg all on the mat.

Basch also laid out the clock for US viewers. Each weight starts with the early rounds overnight at 1,30 AM ET, semifinals come that same morning, and medal matches run the next day at 9 AM ET. That means the Saturday group of Lee, Green, Haines and Hidlay settles its medals on that final Sunday.

Veterans and teenagers in the same lineup

The roster mixes World and Olympic decorated names with wrestlers making their first senior Worlds trip. Basch framed it as veterans next to teenagers, with Bassett and Blaze in the lineup alongside Dake and Snyder.

Bassett is coming off a U23 World Championships in Las Vegas where he lost in the quarterfinals on a last-second four, covered earlier. He now gets the first American match of the freestyle portion in Astana.

Greco-Roman starts first. Per Basch's post, the World Championships kick off in three days with Greco, and men's freestyle hits the mat one week from the day after he posted.

Two things to watch. Thursday, Oct. 29 is the first look at how the teenage end of this team handles a senior World bracket, with Bassett at 65kg and Snyder going the same day at 97kg. Saturday, Oct. 31 stacks Lee, Green, Haines and Hidlay into one session, which is where the US medal count most likely gets decided.
