Taina Fernandez headlines big Iowa recruiting visit
Ross Bartachek confirms Tanner Lafever's report that four recruits are headed to Iowa City this weekend.
Iowa is hosting what Ross Bartachek calls a massive recruiting visit this coming weekend, headlined by three-time U17 World champion Taina Fernandez. Bartachek confirmed reporting from @TannerLafever, and named three more recruits making the trip. Fargo champ Brooke Huffman, U17 World teamer Eve Skrocki and WNO winner Ryleigh Sturgill are all in.

That is four names in one weekend, and the headliner is the rare American with three U17 world titles to her name. Bartachek's post did not include class years, weights or commitment timelines, and nobody has said which of the four, if any, is close to a decision.
What the group looks like
Fernandez is the headliner on résumé alone. Huffman comes in as a Fargo champion, Skrocki as a U17 World team member and Sturgill as a WNO winner. Those are four separate lines on four separate résumés, which is the point of stacking them into a single official visit weekend.
Our take: getting all four into the same building at the same time is the part that matters. Recruits talk to each other on visits, and a group this decorated arriving together is the kind of weekend programs build a class around.
What is not known yet
The sources do not say whether any commitments are expected out of the weekend, and they do not say who else Iowa is competing with for any of the four. Treat this as a visit report and nothing more until somebody announces.
