National Duals bracket reveal set for December 1
Justin Basch lays out the broadcast plan and the money for the National Duals.
The National Duals bracket will be revealed on December 1, per Justin Basch. He also posted the broadcast plan and the money, listing a total purse of $1,200,000.
Basch says the tournament will again be on Flo, with the Sunday night primetime final airing on ESPN. Shane Sparks and Hardell Moore are set to call the finals.
That is the whole distribution picture in one post. A Flo run through the bracket, a network window for the final, and a seven figure purse attached to it.
What Basch posted
The rundown came as a short list of what he called National Duals nuggets. Bracket reveal December 1. Tournament on Flo. Sunday night primetime final on ESPN. Sparks and Moore on the call. Total purse $1,200,000.
Total purse $1,200,000
Basch did not say how the purse is split, whether it goes to teams, to individual wrestlers, or to both. He did not list the field, the seeding criteria, the venue or the dates of the tournament itself. The only date in the post is the December 1 reveal.
Why it lands
The ESPN final is the part that moves. Flo carrying the event is the status quo, and the word "again" in Basch's post is doing that work. A primetime Sunday final on ESPN with Sparks and Moore calling it is a different reach than a subscription stream, and it is the slot the event has pointed at.
The $1,200,000 figure is the other number worth holding onto. Nobody has said yet who collects it or in what shares, so treat the purse as a headline total and nothing more until the structure is published.
Our take: the December 1 reveal is the real deadline here, because that is when the field stops being speculation and the matchups become something fans can argue about.
Two things to watch. The December 1 bracket reveal, and any follow up on how the $1,200,000 purse is distributed.
