WNO adds Melvin Miller vs Cam Howard, No. 1s in 2027 and 2028

Melvin Miller and Cam Howard will meet for the first time at Who's Number One, FloWrestling announced. Both are Fargo champs and U17 World teamers, and per Justin Basch, Miller is the overall No. 1 Big Boarder in the Class of 2027 while Howard is No. 1 in the Class of 2028. That is the top prospect in each of the next two recruiting classes on the same mat on Sept 26.
Flo did not list a weight for the match in its announcement.
What else is on the card
Basch noted that the day before, Flo announced No. 1 Jesse Grajeda against No. 2 Braylon Reynolds at 144. Those two bouts follow the first slate of matches Flo rolled out for the event, headlined by O'Farrill vs Aquila at 175.

Why it lands
WNO's whole pitch is the matchup that recruiting rankings argue about but the high school season never produces, and a No. 1 versus No. 1 across two classes is exactly that. Miller and Howard have never wrestled. Neither has been beaten to the top of his class by anyone Flo could have booked instead.
The Grajeda vs Reynolds addition at 144 gives the card a second ranked-on-ranked pairing with the No. 1 and No. 2 in the same weight, so Flo is stacking the event with matches where the result actually moves a board rather than confirming one.
Our take: pairing the 2027 and 2028 No. 1s is a booking decision as much as a ranking statement, and whoever wins it carries that head-to-head through two more recruiting cycles of debate.
