Sealey fills 79kg at U23 Worlds after Singleton injury
Justin Basch has the swap plus the updated US men's freestyle lineup and start days.
Penn State's Joe Sealey will wrestle 79kg for Team USA at the U23 World Championships after Matty Singleton was forced to withdraw due to injury, per Justin Basch. Basch notes Sealey is a U17 World champion. The swap was earlier reported by Basch as a World Team changeup.
Basch followed with an updated look at the US U23 World Team and the order of operations for men's freestyle, which he said kicks off in about two weeks. Davino, James, Sinclair, Shumate and Merrill start on Friday the 16th. Lilledahl, Bassett, Williams, Sealey and Rademacher start on Saturday the 17th.
That puts Sealey in the Saturday group, on the same day as Lilledahl and Bassett, two of the bigger names on the roster. Nobody has said what the injury to Singleton is or how long he is expected to be out.
