Amit Elor out of U23 Worlds, Graveman replaces her
USA Wrestling says the 2026 U23 Pan American champion takes the spot, and nobody has said why Elor withdrew.
Amit Elor is out of the U23 World Championships. Justin Basch reported the withdrawal of the World and Olympic champion, and USA Wrestling confirmed that 2026 U23 Pan American champion Taylor Graveman will replace her at the Galaxy U23 World Championships. Neither post gave a reason for the change.
2026 U23 Pan American champion Taylor Graveman will replace Amit Elor at the Galaxy U23 World Championships.
That is the whole of what has been said so far. No injury, no weight cut, no scheduling conflict has been offered by Basch or by USA Wrestling, and Elor has not publicly addressed it. Until somebody puts a reason on the record, the only confirmed piece is the swap itself.
Graveman steps in
Graveman arrives with the credential USA Wrestling led with, a 2026 U23 Pan American title. Replacing a World and Olympic champion on a U23 roster is about as abrupt an opportunity as the age group offers, and she gets it with the event already on the calendar under the Galaxy U23 World Championships banner. USA Wrestling tagged the announcement #WrestleLasVegas.
For the United States, the practical effect is straightforward. One of the most decorated wrestlers in the world was on the U23 entry list and now is not, and a Pan Am champion takes the spot instead. Elor's absence removes the heaviest favorite the American side had in the women's freestyle bracket she was entered in.
Our take, the bigger question is what the withdrawal signals for Elor's fall and senior level plans, and nothing in either post speaks to that. She has not been ruled out of anything beyond this event.
What to watch
