Bill Barger, founder of the Ironman, has passed away
Bill Barger, who founded the Ironman, has died. MatScoutWillie called him the man who fundamentally changed high school wrestling and said he was wrestling in high school during the stretch when the sport truly became national.

I don't know that I'd be doing what I'm doing for a living if Coach Barger hadn't existed.
Why it matters: The Ironman is still the standard-setter for national high school tournaments, and its founder is why that circuit exists.
